All levels of APAAP Membership: Professional, Associate and Student are open to individuals who are engaged as an addiction professional or interested in addiction counseling work. All members must abide to the APAAP Code of Ethics. Addiction professionals who attended the Certified Addiction Counsellor training will receive the first year membership free of charge. Others who have not attended the CAC training will need to pay an annual membership fee of HKD $780. All members will entitle to all benefits that are offered by NAADAC as affiliated members (Please refer to Membership Benefits below). Please note that APCCAP Certification and APAAP Membership are distinct. APAAP membership does not lead to professional certification.
Professional Members: Open to individuals who are engaged as an addiction professional e.g. social worker, nurse, medical doctor, etc. Individuals do not necessary be a Certified Addiction Counselor of APCCAP.
Affiliate Members: Open to individuals who are not working as addiction professionals but are interested in addiction counseling work.
Student Members: Open to those individuals currently enrolled in a university or government approved education institution with a minimum of three credit hours in addiction related studies and not currently practicing as an addiction professional. Students involved in a full or part-time internship are also eligible for student membership.
Members will receive regular updates and training information from APAAP and will enjoy reduced rate for training organized by APAAP.
